My passion for the mission field began in 2002 following my first mission trip to Haiti. Shortly after, I felt led to Africa, and in 2005 spent ten days in Kenya. While falling in love with the people there, I got a glimpse into their lack of access to healthcare and resources. I have longed to go back to Kenya with a heart for the infants, children, orphans, and mothers there - especially those suffering from the HIV/AIDS epidemic. One of Kenya's main obstacles to improving HIV prevention and care is an acute shortage of trained health care workers, especially in rural areas. I am planning to move to Narok, Kenya in the summer of 2010 to join the AfricaHope team of New Mission Systems International.
